The Lee District Planning Committee of Fairfax County, VA will be meeting on November 6 to discuss a proposed EXPO Design Center in Kingstowne in place of the movie theatre. This page, sponsored by EXPO Design Center, has been created to
provide our community with information on the design center.
EXPO Design Center is a new generation of interior design showrooms that is revolutionizing the way consumers remodel their homes by offering clients a turn-key approach to interior design and home renovation.
With eight key category showrooms available, all under one roof -- Kitchens, Baths, Carpet & Rugs, Lighting, Patio, Tile, Stone & Wood, Window Treatments & Accessories, and Appliances -- consumers will have access to an array of design products largely unavailable to the general public without a
The newly evolved store concept, which has been dubbed a “living magazine,” features design and décor products arranged in lifestyle room settings rather than warehouse-style displays. Vignettes are accented with throws, tapestries on the walls, decorative pillows and other unique accessories displayed with products to make
the rooms come to life. The store even provides customers with a “design library” where they can relax and peruse books and magazines for ideas.
Professional designers are available to assist the customer who simply wants to purchase new cabinet knobs to brighten the kitchen, as well as someone who wants to design a full-scale bathroom. From start to finish, EXPO offers expert resources to coordinate and complete a project, as well as lifetime warranties on installations
for as long as customers own their homes.
In addition to bringing additional revenue and tax dollars into the Kingstowne community. EXPO Design Center would create 150-200 career opportunities. About 90% of the associates in the store will be full-time and most will be hired from the local area. As a division of The Home Depot®, its employee benefits and compensation
package is considered one of the best in the country.
EXPO is a good corporate citizen that believes in giving back to the community. As part of the Home Depot company has a philanthropic budget of $18 million dollars which is directed back to the communities EXPO and Home Depot serves.
Launched in 1991, EXPO Design Center has 21 locations in nine states: California, Georgia, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas and Virginia.
